My animator told me to gather more reference about how this creature would walk and move. I've researched naked molerats, hairless ferrets, and sphynx cats. Heres a very basic blockout of the creature, it's missing detail and still needs some roughing out to do.
I've finished throwing together a rough cut so we can finally work on post production. This is of the original ending, not the alt one. Ill put together that edit soon, I need to get the model finished so the rest of my team can get to work. I want to try a complete the model by the end of October, that way my rigger can get a rig done by the end of winter break and we can start animating next quarter.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to complete filming because we got rained out. We were able to finish everything except the exterior alleyway scene. We are planning reshoots for Nov 9th so far,. but it might have to be pushed back later so that everyone can be on set. I sat down with my post-production team and told them what to expect from this project and asked them if they were committed enough to contribute. They all helped me plan out the process form here on. I am going to get a quick pre-vis edit together, then I am going to get back into creature design and modeling. Once they have my model they can start rigging, animating, and texturing, which is fantastic. I plan on having the creature fully modeled and retopologized by the beginning on November.
