Senior Project Posts

I've watched a lot of videos and gone through ideation, but nothing is really sticking so far. After multiple drawings of real and not-real animals, I've modeled this quick sculpture on ZBrush.

Creature Idea #1
Creature Idea #1

No idea on texture or color, but I'll get there. I'm going to take a break on this process to clear my head. I'm going to start contacting people, creating a help-wanted poster, and try to finalize my production team and see when they are free.

The animatic is pretty much complete, the timing is a little off, but I was more worried about capturing the shots needed and planning the shoot out. It was difficult figuring out what was needed for each shot, but creating a shot list definitely helped. After this, I plan on starting with creature design. I have somewhat of an idea of what I want the little guy to look like, but it will take much more work to finalize him. Creation of the creature is what I'm really excited for, but I have a long way to go before I get there. Also, I finally named the film. It's called "Before the Fall".

Storyboarding took a lot longer than I thought. It's hard to imagine each camera placement, angle, lighting, and keeping it in the realm of student film. Anyways, not finished yet, but I'm ready to compile the beginning into an animatic, just need to find some music and figure out the pacing. I'm also researching what resources I'll need to complete this project. It's going to take a pretty large team since there are a lot of moving parts. A crew for the live action filming and a crew for the post-production.

Basic storyboard for the first half. I redrew these and added value, just need to throw them into After Effects.
